Is Ireland quietly becoming Europe’s backup country
Is Ireland becoming Europe’s back country with Russia at the doorstep? Wouldn’t it make sense for Europe to have a backup plan?
The angle: Ireland is becoming important for data centers, undersea cables, EU meetings, tech firms, renewable energy, pharmaceutical production, and transatlantic links. What happens if Europe slowly starts treating Ireland as the “safe backup island” for vital systems during cyberattacks, war scares, energy shocks or continental disruption?
I am slowly connecting the dots, but there are more dots to speculate on. This is just speculation and needs more looking at.
